An epidemiological survey of Paragonimiasis was carried out in Dolsan islet, Kumoh islet and Hwayang-myon (Yochon-goon, Chunnam Province).
The results are summarized as follows:

The highest positive reactors were Kumoh islet (54.1%) among the surveyed¢¥ districts, and Hwayang-myon (40.1%). Dolsari islet¢¥ (34.2%) in decreasing order.
2) The incidences by social strata was 44:9% (172 out of 383) in primary school children, 40.5%
(461 out of 1,137) in middle school students and 47.9%(216 out of 451) in inhabitants.
3) In age groups, the rate was the highest in the 21-30 age group, and the lowest in 51-60 age
group and over.
4) Metacercarial incidences of P. westermani were 66.7% in crab(Eriocheir sinensis) and 40.4% in cray-fish (Cambaroides sinensis). The Dumori stream (Kumoh islet, Nam-myon) showed the highest incidence (crab 87.5%. cray-fish 86.3%).
